Welcome to a soft space to slow down together in nature. We’ll meet on Gressholmen, a quiet island just outside Oslo, with mossy forest paths, open meadows, rocky and sandy shorelines, and a slower rhythm that invites the body to settle.🌿 What this is...
This is a walking meditation where we will move slowly, pause often, and listen deeply.
Here, there is space to notice your body, your breath, the ground beneath you, and to notice what happens when you’re not doing that alone, but in contact with the living world around you.
🌱 Where this comes from...
Over the past year, I’ve been in an ongoing process of learning to live with burnout after years of working in the U.S. mental health system.
What supported me wasn’t going further inward or trying to carry everything within myself. It was slowing down and spending time outside connecting with trees, soil, birds, rocks, fresh air, water…letting my system settle through that contact.
Something about being in relationship with the land restored me in ways I hadn’t found elsewhere.
This work is emerging and growing from that place.
🌊 What the walk feels like...
We’ll move together through the landscape with gentle guidance along the way. I’ll offer simple invitations to help you settle into your body, your senses, and the environment around you, so you don’t have to think about what to do or how to do it.
At the same time, everything is optional. You’re always encouraged to follow your own rhythm, to pause, wander, or simply be as you are. The invitations are there as support, not something to get right.
After each of the invitations, we’ll pause and sit together for a bit, with space for optional sharing. If it feels helpful, you can bring a journal, simple art materials, tarot cards, or anything else that supports you in your process.
Silence is always welcome, and you’re free to participate in whatever way feels most natural to you.
🌿 Who this might be for...
This space tends to resonate with people who are:
~ burnt out or overwhelmed
~ in transition or carrying a lot
~ feeling stuck in the head and wanting something more embodied
It’s also a good entry point if traditional meditation hasn’t felt accessible. No experience or special skills are required…you are welcome just as you are.
🌳 What you might notice...
Sometimes people leave feeling:
… a bit more settled and calm
… a bit more connected to the body and ground
… a bit more able to slow down and breathe
… a little less alone in what they’re carrying
… a sense of being supported by something beyond themselves
Whatever you’re arriving with is welcome here...there’s space for quiet, for rest, and for whatever might move or soften along the way.
☺️ A bit about me...
Hi I’m Soren. I work as a nature-based somatic coach, supporting people moving through things like burnout, transition, grief, and relationship challenges.
Before this, I spent many years working as a counselor in the U.S., supporting people through trauma and crisis. Over time, I began to feel the limits of working within traditional mental health spaces, especially when so much of what we as humans struggle with is shaped by the systems we have constructed and are living within.
After a period of burnout, I found myself drawn outside. Forests, water, and slower rhythms became part of how I began to recalibrate and find some relief.
Now, my work takes place outdoors, where the body can settle in relationship with something larger.

📍 Getting there:
The ferry from Aker Brygge departs at 17:00 and arrives at Gressholmen at 17:18, giving you a few minutes to arrive, get settled, and use the restroom if needed.
We’ll finish near the ferry dock around 12:30. The return ferry leaves the Gressholmen ferry dock at 20:51 and arrives back at Aker Brygge at 21:09.
Please note that google maps does not reflect the correct ferry route…the ferry docks at the point on the map at the public restrooms. There are very nice, new restrooms at the ferry dock (the photos on Google Maps are old).
🪴 A note about accessibility…
The walk is slow and spacious, with plenty of pauses, but it does take place on natural terrain.
The path is mostly flat with some gentle to moderate inclines in some areas, and includes uneven ground, roots, and rocks that we’ll be stepping over.
The route is not wheelchair accessible.
To support a quiet and slow pace, the space is intended for adults.
If you’re unsure whether this would feel supportive for your body, you’re very welcome to reach out and I’m happy to talk it through with you.
