9:00 AM - Welcome and Briefing 

• Meet at Caffè Nero outside Westminster Station, Unit B, Portcullis House, 1-2 Bridge St, London SW1A 2JH
• Brief introductions and overview of the day’s objectives.
• Quick tips on respecting public spaces and capturing candid shots.

9:15 AM - Capturing the Moment

• Start the walk  towards the bustling Southbank promenade.
• Focus on observing and anticipating interesting scenes.
• Topics covered:
• Techniques for shooting candidly while blending into the environment.
• Identifying human interactions and unique stories in everyday life.
• Setting your camera for fast-moving subjects.

10:15 AM - Playing with Light and Composition

• Explore areas with diverse lighting conditions, including shadows under bridges and sunlight reflections on the Thames.
• Learn how to use light to create depth and drama in your images.
• Topics covered:
• The role of framing and leading lines in street photography.
• Adjusting exposure to capture contrasts and highlights.

11:15 AM - Capturing the Essence of Southbank

• Regroup for a final discussion and share favorite images.
• Recap key techniques and advice for continued practice.

What to Bring

• Camera (DSLR, mirrorless)
• A versatile lens (e.g., 20mm, 24mm,35mm or 50mm) for capturing street scenes. Also some zooms are ok if you don’t have a prime lens, such as 24-70mm or similar.
• Comfortable shoes for walking.
• Weather-appropriate clothing.
• Water and snacks.
