Southfield Parks & Recreation Department invites the community to an afternoon of commemoration, celebration, and unity on Sunday, June 16. Join us out on the front lawn of the Southfield Municipal Campus beginning at 3 pm on Father's Day.Honor the heroes in your life and the enduring spirit of Juneteenth by spending quality time walking together with the special male figures in your life. Walk with Your Hero invites you to reflect on the strength and inspiration provided by father figures, mentors, and community leaders. This special pre-event to our Juneteenth Jubilee, coinciding with Father's Day and led by Southfield Fire Chief Menifee, is a heartfelt tribute to those who guide us, set against the backdrop of our collective journey toward freedom and equality.
As the walk concludes, the energy and unity will continue into the evening with our Juneteenth Jubilee. This grand celebration is filled with live music, cultural performances, local cuisine, and engaging activities for all ages, embodying the joy and resilience of our community.
