Earlier this year, former New York Mets shortstop and Long Island Ducks co-owner Bud Harrelson passed away from Alzheimer's disease. Bud was a board member of the Alzheimer's Association Long Island Chapter. He wanted to use his illness to raise awareness about dementia so families are not alone on this journey. On October 20, the North Babylon Walk at Belmont Lake State Park will be held in his memory.Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease.
