Hypertension remains one of the leading risk factors for cardiovascular diseases worldwide, often progressing silently before causing serious health complications. In observance of World Hypertension Day 2026, SCOME BMSS Bangladesh is organizing "Walk The Talk: Combating hypertension together" along with ABC of Hypertension 2.0 in collaboration with National Heart Foundation, a national-level awareness and engagement program aimed at promoting prevention, early detection, and effective management of hypertension among future healthcare professionals.
This initiative seeks to transform awareness into action by encouraging medical students to understand the importance of hypertension control and become advocates for healthier communities.
What to Expect:
An academic session on hypertension conducted by expert clinicians and healthcare professionals
Discussions on prevention, screening, lifestyle modification, and management strategies
Insights into the current burden and public health impact of hypertension
A symbolic awareness walk promoting collective action against hypertension
Opportunities to engage with healthcare leaders and fellow medical students from across Bangladesh
The event will bring together more than 150 medical students from different medical colleges, creating a platform for learning, awareness, and collaboration in addressing one of the most pressing non-communicable diseases of our time.
