Walk on the Wild Side

Are you ready to "Walk on the Wild Side" with your Alaska Zoo friends? Join us for an online auction leading up to the main event on the evening of Thursday, June 17th, 2021! This annual fundraiser supports the animal care and operations of our 50-plus year nonprofit zoo, the only zoo in Alaska. This event will feature:

• A limited sales in-person event for ages 21 and over only from 6-8pm on the lawn. A simple catered box dinner will be served with wine or beer from 6-7, followed a walk through the zoo to enjoy animal enrichment and trailside encounters moderated by zookeepers. Two in-person ticket options with one including a special VIP zoo baby encounter (see ticket information below).
• A special virtual program from 7-8pm for those who prefer to join remotely. Program will feature lively hosts and virtual animal encounters.
• An online auction happening June 13th-17th. We have some amazing items which will be auctioned online to the highest bidders including roundtrip Alaska Airlines tickets, donations from local artists, a Dooney & Bourke handbag, quilted wall hangings, private Zoo Lights evenings, rental packages for the holidays, animal encounters, VIP behind-the-scenes tours and more!

Tickets:

• In-person "VIP Zoo Baby Encounter Guest": $250/guest. Includes the catered box meal and beverage, access to all trailside animal experiences, access to the small in-person auction and a special experience with a zoo baby of the season off of the main trails. Guests will receive a bracelet at check in for behind-the-scenes access to the baby encounter.
• In-person "Wildlife Warrior Guest": $125/guest. Includes all of the above in-person benefits minus the behind-the-scenes baby encounter.
• Virtual Option: $100/household access. Invite friends and family to watch a special virtual version of the encounters happening during the trailside time from 7-8pm. Program includes fun human and animal co-hosts!

Additional information:

• This event is for participants ages 21 and over. Please be ready to show your ID at the gate when you check in.
• Ticket sales for the in-person event will close on June 16th at Noon. All tickets for this event are sold online only.
• We have a 4 ticket reservation maximum for in-person tickets. Guests will be seated on the lawn at 2 or 4 person tables at proper social distances.
• The online auction will start on June 13th at 9am AK time and conclude on June 17th at 10:00pm.
• All funds raised from this event go to support the Alaska Zoo's Relief Fund, the money we use to cover operational expenses for our nonprofit zoo.
• Small online service fees will be added to ticket prices in checkout.
