Kia ora and welcome to Walk for Peace Whangārei ?This event is a peaceful, community-based gathering in Whangārei, centred on unity, connection, and hope.
We know many people are feeling concern, grief, exhaustion, or helplessness about the state of our world. We might be oceans away from war zones, oppressive regimes, or families in crisis, but we are not powerless. Not even close.
That’s why a lovely group of passionate locals are organising this walk for peace - a chance to come together, walk side by side, and imagine the kind of world we all want to see.
This community walk is:
~ Relaxed, family-friendly and open to all ages
~ Grounded in compassion, respect, and shared humanity
~ A space for connection and solidarity, rather than division or debate
~ A chance to walk alongside others and remember we’re better together.
It’s a small way to take a step toward the kind of world we want to live in.
If you’ve been holding it all on your own, or feeling worried but unsure what to do, this is for you. It’s for all of us.

Date: 11am Saturday 2 May 2026
Location: Canopy Bridge start - Town Basin Whangarei.
The walk will go from the Canopy Bridge down to the new bridge, Te Matau A Pohe, and back again).
= About Us =
We are a group of locals from various backgrounds and professions, who are passionate about helping people find ways to feel more peaceful and connected.
We have no affiliation with any particular groups or causes.
We’ve been spreading the word to community groups, churches, high schools and the general public.
It’s a totally neutral space where everyone is welcome.
