The evening of May 20, 2022, the WBA and Civil War Trails, Inc will host a "Walk and Talk" at York County's New Quarter Park. The event will feature an overview of the Battle of Williamsburg. A significant part of the Battle occurred near New Quarter Park on May 5, 1862. Since the event falls on the day following the anniversary of the Battle, the WBA will also add emphasis to the battle's aftermath including care of the fallen and wounded and the devastating impact on the old colonial capitol and the people in the now occupied town of Williamsburg.
The event will begin at 6pm in the parking lot next to the visitor center and conclude at 7:30 pm near Redoubt 12. The event is free, although the WBA will gladly accept donations.
WBA board members Don Kline and Trish Thomas will be the tour guides.
