About this Event
Every year, millions of dollars in Wake County go unused—funds that could help ensure no child goes hungry when school is out.
Did you know you can provide free meals to kids this summer? The USDA-funded SUN Meals Program is available at no cost to community partners across Wake County.
Wake County Cooperative Extension helps identify sites and partners to offer free summer meals and supports existing sites with outreach materials, enrichment ideas, and strategies to increase attendance.
We are hosting a SUNMeals Resource Event February 19th from 10AM - 12:00PM at the Wake County Commons Building for community members to learn more about this impactful and underutilized resource.
This free, public event is open to current and prospective summer food sponsors, sites, volunteers, and anyone interested in learning more about the program. Whether you are new or have hosted a site for years, you can connect with meal sponsors, access outreach resources, and sample the Wake County Public Schools summer menu.
Let’s work together to make this summer’s program the best one yet!
