From molds and deckles to pigments and dyes, ‘Wait, That’s Paper?’ explores the magical world of hand papermaking. During this 3.5-hour class, you will learn about molds and deckles, making your own pulp from recycled waste and plant fibers, using and mixing additives, and sheet forming. The class will explore the wonders of creating decorative paper using pigments, natural dyes, flowers, seeds, and thread. The possibilities with paper are unlimited, and this workshop focuses on creating sheets to write on, paint on, or frame as original art pieces. Papermaking is a sustainable practice that invites us to slow down and enjoy the ambiance of the craft. This class is designed for all levels. Feel free to bring old receipts/scraps of paper, flowers, dead leaves, or a disposable small object to add to your exploration of paper! $50 including all materials
