About this Event

Explore Enclosure Bay by night – see the reef from a different perspective! Registrations essential.


Bring your own gear or get free hire of our mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuits. Recommended for everyone 12 years and up. Prior swimming and snorkelling experience required. Experienced guides and advanced safety procedures will be in place on the day.

This event is funded by Waiheke Local Board, Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa and The Bobby Stafford Bush Foundation.



When:

Saturday 11th of January 2025

Twilight snorkel: 6:30-8:00pm

Night snorkel: 8:00-9:30pm

**Please note if you are based on the mainland you will need to purchase your own ferry ticket and organise on island transport to get to Enclosure Bay **


Experiencing Marine Reserves runs a series of free and subsidised events over the summer months that rely on public support to make them happen. We appreciate donations to participate, either cash or eftpos on the day, online or by giving a koha of your time volunteering at a future event. Most people donate $5-10pp.


What to bring

  • togs and towel
  • warm clothes
  • under water torch if you own one (your guide will have a torch so it is not neccessary to have your own)


What we provide

  • Wetsuit, fins, mask and snorkel (hoods are also available for those that get cold)
  • Body boards for extra floatation
  • Snorkel guide with high powered underwater torch
  • Hot drink
  • Advanced health and safety procedures


Cancellation policy: As this event requires registration - if you give less than 24 hours notice or do not show up an invoice of $20pp may be issued.
