ASHES OF YGGDRASIL is a 5-piece melodic death metal band from the barren prairies of Lloydminster, AB/SK. Formed in 2017, our sound has continually evolved across our three albums: The Path (2019), Bearing the Pelt of the Wolf King (2021), and our newest, Crossing of the Realms (2025). While we are melodic death metal, we have hints of thrash, black metal, and even the odd prog sprinkle to shake things up! Il aura aussi la chance de gagner des prix en argent et d'équipement au Wacken Metal Battle Internationale.

Winner of this year's Wacken Metal Battle Canada will receive a slot at Wacken Open Air 2026 taking place from July 29th - August 1st, 2026 in Wacken, Germany. The Canadian champion receives $1,000 CAD towards expenses, plus VIP camping at the festival and all backline provided. They also have the opportunity to win monetary and gear prizes at the international Wacken Metal Battle.
