Wing Hop Fung Hosts Special Food and Wine Pairing Collaboration with Joseph Badaro of Hummus Labs and Certified Sommelier, Dana Farner

Where: W Bar by Wing Hop Fung (Patio)

When: Saturday, October 2, 4-5:30 PM

Cost: $60 - Includes five wines and a custom-curated box of eight dips.

Who doesn't love delicious, flavorful hummus, not to mention baba ganoush and other mouth-watering Lebanese dips?  And this hummus is truly a cut above - created by Hummus Lab's Joseph Badaro and paired with an amazing lineup of wines curated by Certified Sommelier, Dana Farner!

Join us on Wing Hop Fung's patio on Saturday, October 2 for this unique and creative pairing experience. Dana and Joseph will share top-quality wine and food (including the best pita chips you've ever had - hands down) with you. They will demonstrate the versatility of pairing flavors like garlic, feta and cumin with a variety of wines.

Joseph Badaro - Chef Joseph Badaro was born and raised in the family kitchen. One of his fondest memories as a child was helping his mother prep garbanzo beans for their hummus. Joseph continued to help her out in the kitchen and quickly mastered cooking. He furthered his culinary education in Lebanon, where he spent most summers growing up. During these trips, he and his cousins ate their way through family kitchens, restaurants, and shawarma bars scattered all over Beirut, learning new authentic recipes, flavors, and cooking techniques native to his family’s culture with every trip. The Hummus Labs menu is a collection of Chef Joseph Badaro’s favorite Lebanese dishes, and represents everything he has learned over the years from his mother, family, and Lebanese roots.

Dana Farner - Dana Farner has spent most of her life in restaurants, most recently as Beverage Director and Sommelier of Wolfgang Puck's CUT at the Beverly Wilshire, which she opened in 2006. Her wine career began in NYC as Sommelier at Blue Water Grill after her passion for blind tasting took hold. Outside restaurants, Dana was Regional Director for SevenFifty and serves as Wine Advisor for private clients. She is now working as Wine Consultant in Los Angeles for Massanois, a New York-based Importer/Distributor. Before wine, Dana’s life was theater. She did sketch comedy and improv on the Disney Cruise Line and performed in regional productions of plays such as Ruthless! The Musical and Into the Woods. Dubbed "the indie-rock goddess sommelier" by Jonathan Gold, and "one of the best around" by Bon Appetit, Dana holds the Advanced Level certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers and recently earned her Global Wine MBA from Sonoma State.
