About this Event
Free/ Donation Based Kirtan this Friday!
When: Friday 30th 7pm - 8:45pm with optional social hangout afterwards
Where: Providence Studio, 42A Providence Place, BN14GE. Through the purple door and up the stairs.
Who: Marcin and Ben, a guitar, and anybody who would like to join (all welcome)
Cost: donations welcome to cover the cost of hiring the space. This is a non-profit event.
Why: In celebration of Samhain, the ancient festival marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter, or the “darker half” of the year.
Traditionally, bonfires were lit for their protective and cleansing powers. Through singing together, we hope to kindle a special flame in our hearts, bringing warmth, light and energy as we approach the winter months.
Samhain is a liminal or threshold festival when the boundary between this world and the Otherworld blurs, making contact with spirits more likely.
And so through singing we intend to connect deeper with our ancestors, release the past and connect with higher realms to receive support and blessings.
Feel free to sing or be silent, dance or be still, or anything in-between. You are welcome exactly as you are.
Bring:
- a cushion or a yoga mat (if you'd like to sit on the floor)
- warm clothes, a blanket
- a bottle of water
Chairs are available.
We look forward to chanting with you!
