About this Event

Discover Oslo in a fun, exciting way on our day and evening tours. Our pass is valid for three days and grants you a flexible experience – you can take day and evening hop-on hop-off walking tours at any point of time within these three days. A free mobile app (included in the ticket price) gives you an opportunity to explore the city at your own pace.

The history of Oslo spans almost 1,000 years and its impressive nautical achievements led it to become one of Europe’s leading centres of trade. While the Vikings are long gone, the city is rooted in its maritime heritage to this day. With the help of our Oslo city guides, you’ll get an unparalleled insight into what makes this Scandinavian city stand out.

On our day tour, we circle Sentrum, Oslo’s diverse city centre, to show you its best landmarks, museums, restaurants, and bars. We start our walk at the University of Oslo and learn how Oslo earned its nickname “Tiger City,” before walking down Karl Johans gate, the city’s famed two-laned central street. As we are on our way to reach emblematic Oslo Opera House (which has quickly turned into the symbol of the city), we get a chance to marvel at some of the best pieces of 19th-century Norwegian architecture: the National Threatre, Norwegian Parliament, and Grand Hotel. The walking tour concludes at Stortovet, Oslo’s grand plaza, where some of its most monumental buildings can be found.

At a later time, join our evening tour to get the lowdown on Oslo’s hippest hang-outs and compelling contemporary art scene in the trendy Aker Brygge neighbourhood. This area experienced a rapid and impressive transformation from a poor neighborhood into the most expensive and modern place in the city. As we stroll along the regenerated waterfront filled with chatter from popular restaurant patios and bars, we eventually reach Tjuvholmen. This ultra-modern artificial island is home to the Astrup Fearnley Museum and the Tjuvholmen Sculpture Park, and they house some of the most awe-inspiring and impressive works of contemporary art in northern Europe. Providing the perfect juxtaposition to this modern enclave, we spend the second half of the tour seeing more of Christiania’s historical highlights.

After enjoying these walks with us, you can be sure that you have covered pretty much of Oslo’s major attractions. But don’t hesitate to explore more of Oslo at your own pace, with three extra self-guided walking tours available in your Vox City app!
