About this Event
This historic moment in time requires relational organizing, personal connection, and grassroots strategies to drive communities of color to the polls this November. From October to November, Latina Coalition Silicon Valley (LCSV) and LEAD Filipino will establish a Voter Hub at Open San José to provide weekly canvassing training on relational organizing technology, media literacy workshops, and manage direct voter engagement activities such as phone banking and door-knocking initiatives.
Supported by a coalition of 10 ethnically and culturally diverse community-based organizations, the Open San José Voter Hub will focus on student engagement and low propensity voters in Black, Latina/o, and Asian neighborhoods across San José. Leveraging the expertise of partner organizations that have previously run voter turnout campaigns, #TogetherweVote will collaborate on initiatives including student recruitment at San José State University and San Jos´é City College, engaging arts and cultural groups, community festivals, ethnic media and press, and building small business ambassador programs to spread awareness about the General Election.
