On Monday, March 30th join PREACH and our community partners to become educated and engaged voter. Learn what is on the ballot, what is being considered at the legislature and and what is happening at the local level. Meet organizations that can help you navigate a very complicated election season.
Then join us for a very special screening of the documentary "The Roots that Bind Us." "The Roots That Bind Us" (2026) is a documentary film exploring the history and impact of non-unanimous jury convictions in Louisiana. It examines how these Jim Crow-era laws are rooted in systemic racism, focusing on the stories of individuals like Jermaine, Herman, and Lloyd who were impacted by the justice system.The film follows the stories of Jermaine, Herman and Lloyd to unpack the racist origins and continued impact of Louisiana’s Jim Crow Jury law. The three had decades of their lives taken away due to incarceration and have now joined the fight to challenge the law and win freedom for hundreds of people in Pr*son.
