Volunteering Untapped - FIRST LEGO League - November 2025

We are BACK with one of our favorite events of the year, LEGO building with FIRST LEGO League.

Guided by two or more adult Coaches, LEGO League Challenge teams (up to 10 members, ages 9-14) research a real-world problem and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, and program a LEGO robot and then compete on a table-top playing field. Each FIRST LEGO League season culminates with local tournaments and championships where teams show off what they learned and invented, and compete with their robots.

If you've never joined us for this event, get ready to have a ton of fun. We'll be working to build LEGO kits that will become integral components of the courses that the league uses at their competition. There are three levels: Beginner, intermediate and most challenging.

The theme changes each year, and the 2025-2026 season theme is all about Archeology!

When: Saturday, November 8th from 10AM-1PM

Where: Checkerspot (note that their new address is 1421 Ridgely St, Baltimore, MD 21230.

Parking: There is some parking on site in the parking lot. There are also parking spaces on Ridgely St. and Alluvion St., and of course free street parking. Lot O is always available but is paid parking during home O's, Ravens home games and stadium events (you will see an attendant if it is paid parking).

Afterparty: We'll staying put, to celebrate at Checkerspot.
