Volunteering Untapped - FIRST LEGO League - November 2024

We are BACK with one of our favorite events of the year, LEGO building with FIRST LEGO League.

FIRST LEGO League Challenge provides students age 9-14 with a hands-on, interactive robotics program in a sports-like atmosphere. Teams of up to 10 players focus on team building, problem solving, creativity, and analytical thinking to develop solutions to a problem currently facing the world – the Challenge.

Each FIRST LEGO League season culminates with local tournaments and championships where teams show off what they learned, invented, and compete with their robots. The 2024-2025 season theme is all about the Ocean - Submerged!

If you've never joined us for this event, get ready to have a ton of fun. We'll be working to build LEGO kits that will become integral components of the courses that the league uses at their competition. There are three levels: Beginner, intermediate and most challenging.

When: Saturday, November 9th from 10AM-1PM

Where: Checkerspot (note that their new address is 1421 Ridgely St, Baltimore, MD 21230.

Parking: There is some parking on site in the parking lot. There are also parking spaces on Ridgely St. and Alluvion St., and of course free street parking.

Afterparty: We'll staying put, to celebrate at Checkerspot.
