In celebration of National Mentoring Month, The Link is thrilled to host a volunteer mentor interest lunch on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM noon! Why we are hosting this? Two reasons:
1. ViPS, our one-on-one student mentorship program, expanded into three new schools in 2025. Along with West Elementary School and Parkside Elementary School, students at Fairview High School, Holly Pond Middle School, and Cullman City Primary School now get to benefit from additional support with a volunteer mentor!
2. We are hoping to offer PARENT MENTORS in 2026! Parent mentors will be able to offer peer-to-peer support and guidance for our parenting education students who are parenting for the first time or parenting with additional challenges.
These opportunities are huge, exciting and so, so needed for families in our community... but we need your help to fill those roles! At this lunch, you'll be able to hear from our Educational Enrichment Manager, Dakota Trammell and our Programs Manager, Madie Hanni, LMSW on why mentorship matters and how you can come alongside The Link to offer your guidance as a volunteer mentor in 2026. We can't wait to see you there!
