About this Event

Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC) provides Valet Bike Parking at each Levi's event. Valet Bike Parking is one of many ways that SVBC encourages people to bike to public events.

Volunteers at the Valet Bike Parking for Levi's events are key members of the SVBC team. It is only with your help that Valet Bike Parking is possible. Your volunteering supports successful SVBC programs and advocacy while creating a healthy community, environment, and economy through bicycling for people who live, work, or play in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Plus, volunteering with SVBC is fun! We have great volunteers and great eco-concious customers.

So thank you in advance!

Shifts

There will be two volunteer shifts for the event:

Shift 1 - Hours: 10:05 AM - 1:35 PM

Shift 2 - Hours: 1:35 PM - 5:05 PM

What to Expect: Levi's Stadium provides two fenced-off, open-air bike corrals in their parking lot, where SVBC volunteers supervise bikes during events. This volunteering involves equipment set up or breakdown, intake and registration of bikes, storing and securing the bicycles, keeping a watchful eye during the event, and happily returning them to attendees after the event. This leaves ample time for you to talk to members of the community and learn about the vast variety of bicycles people ride around town! A warm meal will be provided for volunteers.

You may reserve volunteer spots by registering one ticket per volunteer. If you would like to bring 3 volunteers from your group, you need to register their name (or yours as a place holder) for each ticket. Please enter all information as accurately as possible. If you do not end up needing all of the tickets you originally registered for, please cancel your reservation(s) and notify the Bike Parking Manager at [email protected]If you sign up for a shift, please let us know if things change as early as possible. It is critical we have all spots reliably filled well before each event. Please add this event to your calendar so you do not forget!

Qualifications

Volunteers must be able to greet customers verbally or non-verbally. Some volunteers need to take tickets from, or hand tickets to, customers, and read numbers off the tickets. Some volunteers need to be able to walk with bicycles and lift bicycles off the ground.  Volunteers aged 13 to 18, who are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian are required to bring a signed Minor Consent Form to the Event Lead the day of the event. Volunteers under the age of 13 must also be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to volunteer.

Parents/Guardians, if your child is coming with you to volunteer, the expectation is that they can be independent and support the bike parking program without your need to supervise them the entire time. You will be working together but must be able to leave them unattended at times. If you are unsure if this is an age appropriate volunteer activity for your child, please contact the Bike Parking Manager.

Donations

If you would like to make a donation to SVBC (which is much appreciated!) please go to our Donation Page.

More Information

Once registered, volunteers will be emailed closer to the event date with their supervisor's name and phone number, so please stay tuned and make sure your contact information is accurately entered! If you have questions, please email our Bike Parking Manager, Eleni Jacobson, at [email protected] or our Membership and Outreach Coordinator, Jessica Waite at [email protected].
