About this Event
Whether you’re brand new or just getting started, this session will help you understand how Vancouver Food Runners rescues work and get you ready for local routes.
Vancouver Food Runners (VFR) is a local charity that rescues surplus good food and delivers it to community organizations. Using our simple app, volunteers pick up donations from food businesses and deliver them to nonprofits, helping reduce food waste and support neighbours across Vancouver.
Join us for a friendly and informative in-person session where you’ll meet the VFR team, connect with other volunteers, and learn how food rescue supports local nonprofits and community programs. It’s also a great chance to hear from experienced volunteers and get practical tips for completing your first rescues.
Whether you’re a new volunteer or have already completed a few rescues, this session is a great opportunity to ask questions, build confidence, and feel more connected to the VFR community.
Come with questions and leave with confidence to start rescuing food!
