Volunteer for Bike Parking - Taco and Margarita Fest at SAP Center!

Event Description

We (Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC)) are excited to provide Valet Bike Parking at SAP Center's Taco and Margarita Festival. Join us for a day of volunteering at a wonderful community event in the warm June sunshine!

There are 3 shifts you can sign up for:

 Shift Hours: 

Saturday, June 12th, 2022

9:30 AM - 12:30 PM

12:30 PM - 3:30 PM

3:30 PM - 6:30 PM

What to Expect: Bike parking will take place outside of the south entrance of SAP Center. You can expect to:

• Interact briefly with many people delivering their bicycles to your care
• Explain to customers the process of checking a bike in and picking a bike up
• Staple tickets around handlebars
• Walk bikes to and from the racks and the entrance of the bike parking corral

Volunteers need to verbally or non-verbally greet bicyclist customers.

Volunteers aged 13 to 18, who are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian are required to bring a signed waiver form (included in signup) to the Event Lead the day of the event. Volunteers under the age of 13 must also be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to volunteer. 

Parents/Guardians, if your child is coming with you to volunteer, the expectation is that they can be independent and contribute to the bike parking operations without your need to supervise them the entire time. You will be working together but must be able to leave them unattended at times. If you are unsure if this is an age appropriate volunteer activity for your child, please do not hesitate to contact [email protected].

Please arrive to your bike parking shift using public transportation or your bicycle, as this is the day of Viva Calle, and the streets will be closed!
