Join the Detroit Spartans and the Michigan State University Extension Detroit Partnership for Food, Learning and Innovation (DPFLI) in supporting local urban growers in the city of Detroit caring for their trees and beautifying their growing spaces. Volunteers will be assisting urban farmers in the city to help tackle larger projects. Activities may include picking up trash/clearing debris, mulching trees and pathways, pruning, harvesting, etc. Many of the workdays will also include a brief educational aspect about fruit trees such as mixing holistic nontoxic sprays, pruning and fertilizing.Be in the community with season and aspiring growers to lend a hand and learn!
