Hello friends! It's been just over a month since Hurricane Helene brought devastating storm surge to the greenhouse, deck, garden, and grounds at Sacred Lands. We, like so many in our community, have been working hard to clean up and get back on our feet. To that end we are hosting another volunteer cleanup at Sacred Lands on Saturday, November 9th.
Our last cleanup event was a big success thanks to our neighbors and friends plus groups of students, faculty, and Army ROTC from USF. Since then we had another hurricane, Milton. Milton did not deliver another surge, but the wind and record rainfall were a setback to our goal of making this historic property safe for the public to enjoy and for us to host tours and events.
If you are able and would like to help we will be gathering at Sacred Lands on Saturday 11/9/24.
Come anytime between 9:00am and 3:00pm for as long or as short as you like.
Please bring your own drinking water and snacks.
