This is Bellingham’s oldest and largest ski swap. The dates of the swap are Oct 14, 15, 16 & 17. YES you read that right we are extending our hours this year to compensate for limited occupancy numbers and CoVid protocols.
We will need a host of volunteers to help us with this very important fundraiser. Please look below for the list of volunteer positions we need to fill to make this event a success. Many positions have multiple slots to fill so select as many time slots as you would like. We have volunteers that can only help for a couple of hours to people who stay for the entire 4 days. Your help at all levels is appreciated.
Pre-registered volunteers get the benefit of early-bird shopping. If you are preregistered on our volunteer list prior to Thursday, October 14, you are eligible to shop Thursday evening at about 9:30 pm for the very best deals of the swap. (Note: Shopping prior to 9:30 pm by volunteers will not be permitted).
The money raised goes to support the Mt Baker Race Team, Bellingham Winter Ride, and the KKSC Scholarship Program. The KKSC Scholarship Program provides thousands of dollars in scholarships annually to help deserving youth get out outside and experience the wonder of winter in the mountains. Skiing and snowboarding scholarships are provided for lessons, lift tickets, rental equipment and transportation.
In four days we create a store, stock the inventory, handle over $100,000 in new and used winter sports equipment, clear the inventory, breakdown the sales racks and pay consignment for sold equipment. It is an amazing thing to be take part in.
