Get outside and get your hands in the dirt out at the Leslie Groves North Restoration Project! Join us to clear some weeds to make room for our native plants.
Where to meet: Leslie Groves North Native Plant/Habitat Restoration Project at Harris and Snyder Street in Richland
What to bring: If you have them, please bring a weeding tool (a dandelion puller works well) and a pail for hauling the weeds to the City-provided trash cans. Sturdy garden gloves, long pants, and long sleeve shirt are recommended, knee pads can be useful, and don’t forget water and a hat!
The Leslie Groves North Naturalized area is an ongoing collaboration between CBWNPS, the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society, and the City of Richland. Together, volunteers have turned a weedy unused area into a native habitat full of sagebrush, bitterbrush and native flowers and grasses. This project has been underway since 2006!
Work parties will be the following dates from 8:30 -11 AM as weather allows:
Thursday May 23rd, Saturday May 25th, Sunday May 26th
If you can help, please contact the powerhouse behind this project, Debbie Berkowitz, at [email protected] so she can let you know if anything changes.
