Volumes in Bronze: Seeing & Shaping the Figure

In conjunction with her exhibition "Volumes in Bronze: A Sculptor's Library of Moments," artist Cindy Free offers an introductory sculpture workshop for adults called "Seeing and Shaping the Figure.” Participants will learn how to “see” the human figure by observing gesture, balance, and volume. Cindy will then discuss the casting process, which participants will actively explore by posing a small wire armature and building volume using aluminum foil (an inexpensive alternative to clay). Participants will take home their own small figure. This workshop is made possible in part by a grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
