Today we journey to the northern part of the Rheinland-Pfalz into the Vulkaneifel (Volcanic-Eifel), a region similar to Yellowstone, made up of a large cluster of sleeping volcanoes. Although there has not been an eruption since 10,930 BC, volcanic activity can still be observed here, including the identification of over 350 individual volcano throats, 70 oval craters, rare freshwater geysers and many acidified springs. Local brew masters have combined the natural elements of the Vulkaneifel with the finest raw ingredients to craft a beer of award-winning flavor and finish. Today we will explore a beer and brewery that is on the bucket list of serious beer connoisseurs the world over!
