Voices of Wilmington: A Community Reading Series - June Reading
About this Event
Join Delaware Poets Inc. at the Wilmington North Branch Library for the June reading of Voices of Wilmington: A Community Reading Series, featuring The Twin Poets, Delaware Poets Laureate Al Mills and Nnamdi Chukwuocha; Traci Currie, spoken word artist, educator, and Delaware Poetry Out Loud state coordinator; and other Delaware poets!
Presented as part of Wilmington Presents: DE250, this open-mic style poetry gathering celebrates Wilmington’s voices, stories, and creative spirit. Featured poets will share selections from The Delaware Poets Almanac, a semiquincentennial chapbook honoring Delaware poets and the state’s literary history.
Following the featured readings, attendees are invited to take the mic and share poems, reflections, or creative responses connected to Delaware’s people, places, history, and lived experience.
Come to listen, read, reflect, and help create a lasting literary record of Wilmington during Delaware’s 250th commemoration!
