“They’re trying to obliterate the culture, not just the nation, but the culture of Ukraine.”
And we will not let them!
The International Human Rights Art Festival presents a reading of Ukrainian writers — one currently in the Ukraine and two in exile, from the recently published anthology Voices of Ukraine: Impressions Around a War.
Featured will be:
Nick Herring is a 35-year-old English teacher from Kyiv, where he remains to this day and intends to stay no matter what the future holds. After sending his family to another country for safety, he decided to write about the war in Ukraine.
Nazarii Nazariv, PhD, is a translator, a linguist, and a researcher from a small village in Ukrainian Steppe who currently resides in Paris, France. His Ukrainian poems were selected for representative national anthologies, whereas his English poems and translations have appeared in Eratio, Eunoia, Literary Shanghai, and The Tiger Moth Review.
Sofiia Krazhan recently completed her first year as a New York University undergraduate. Raised in Kyiv, she moved between countries in Eastern Europe before graduating high school in Finland and moving to the States to pursue an International Relations major, later hoping to earn a J.D & Ph.D in International Law.
