About this Event
The Voices of the Silenced Youth Summit is a powerful gathering of Indigenous youth leaders and advocates from across Canada, coming together to address the challenges faced by Indigenous communities today. This event, hosted on the Tsuut'ina Nation, provides a space for youth to voice their struggles, share stories, and unite in finding ways to overcome the barriers that have historically silenced them.
The summit is designed to empower youth through a series of workshops, keynote speeches, and performances by influential Indigenous leaders, athletes, and artists. Over two days, participants will engage in discussions surrounding mental health, recovery, leadership, culture, and identity, fostering a sense of unity and collective resilience.
Keynote speakers on October 8 include:
Minor Chief Regena Crowchild: Speaking on treaties and their significance to Indigenous sovereignty.
Kyle Youngpine: Focusing on mental health and recovery.
Harlen Kingfisher: Sharing his journey with Smudge the Blades.
Apollo: An Olympic swimmer, inspiring resilience and perseverance.
Tony Too Sick: Closing with a performance that blends music and storytelling.
On October 9, the summit continues with:
