About this Event
FLORIDA ARTISTS ANSWER THE CALL TO STOP FBI ATTACKS ON BLACK LIBERATION!
The Uhuru Movement is organizing the “Voices of Resistance” benefit concert to raise resources for the “Hands Off Uhuru! Hands off Africa!” Legal Defense Fund, and Florida musicians of diverse genres have stepped forward to defend the democratic rights of the African community.
Last year, on July 29th, the U.S. government waged the most serious attack on the Black Liberation Movement since the 1960s when the FBI raided seven homes and offices of Uhuru Movement leaders including the home of Uhuru founder/leader Chairman Omali Yeshitela, as well as the Uhuru House community center in St. Petersburg, Florida. The government is now threatening indictments, expected in early 2023, against Yeshitela and other movement leaders.
