Environment Centre NT, Beyond Gas Network and Australian Conservation Foundation have teamed up to support a group of Territorians to bring an urgent message down south: The Territory is under threat from gas expansion like never before. For over a decade, Territorians have led the fight against this destructive industry, but now Country, water, and our climate are at greater risk than ever.
✊🏽 Join us for a powerful event featuring NT Traditional Owners and Territorians who will share what these dangerous gas projects mean for their communities—and how you can stand in solidarity here in Victoria.

🔥 Why it matters: Much of the NT is predicted to be unliveable before the end of the century due to climate impacts, and the Federal Government is considering a $1.9 billion gas hub in Darwin, while failing to stop fracking in the Beetaloo Basin. Victorians banned fracking because we know the dangers—now it's time to support communities in the NT who are fighting to do the same.

This event will take place on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We pay respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land, water and skies, and their ongoing resistance to the impacts of colonisation. There can be no climate justice without First Nations justice ❤️💛🖤
