Set within the historic landscape of Sailor’s Creek, the program brings together firsthand accounts, historical narratives, and creative interpretations to illuminate the human experiences behind the site’s history.
From the voices of those who lived through pivotal moments to the reflections of those who preserve and interpret this legacy today, Voices From Sailor’s Creek invites audiences to connect deeply with the people and stories that have shaped this place. Through themes of struggle, endurance, loss, and remembrance, the program explores how the experiences of the past continue to resonate across generations.
Joshua Lindamood is a historian serving at Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Historical State Park and Staunton River Battlefield State Park. He has also worked with the American Civil War Museum and Appomattox Court House National Historical Park, interpreting and preserving American Civil War history for visitors.
A founding member and co-director of the Appomattox-Petersburg Preservation Society (A.P.P.S.), Joshua is dedicated to preserving Southside Virginia’s battlefields and historic landmarks while educating future generations about the region’s important role in the American Civil War.
