Monstercat will be bringing the party to VMF After Dark, featuring a lineup of artists from the leading dance music label. Monstercat is one of electronic music’s most influential independent record labels. Founded in Waterloo, Canada in 2011, Monstercat has since expanded its global footprint with offices in Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Singapore. Backed by passionate employees, driven artists, and the dedication of fans worldwide, Monstercat proves that independent labels have the ability to reshape and reimagine the music industry landscape.

HARM REDUCTION BUDDY SYSTEM

The Buddy System is a grassroots effort to combat rape culture, provide harm reduction, and enhance the safety of dance parties and events. Buddies will be wearing neon shirts and are NARCAN trained. They are carrying sealed water bottles, condoms, lube, granola bars, tampons, and more. They will run interference if someone is receiving unwanted attention, can help folks in need to find a way home, and generally serve as go-to support people should any problems arise.

We acknowledge that this event takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples – the sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) nations. We ask that you take a moment to consider the history of the land that we gather on, your relations with local Indigenous people and what each of us can do to foster meaningful reconciliation now and into the future.
