The Dept. of EEE will organize a VLSI DAY 2022 at UIU. The program events will cover seminar, plenary talks, inter-action with the local semiconductor companies, and design competition for the students. ????????:

Note that students need to register by September 7th with a proof of “current student status” from the respective department to participate in the design competition. Further details about registration procedure will be posted later.

Advisory Committee of VLSI day 2022 has decided on the following rules:

Undergraduate level student from any University in Bangladesh – proof of current studentship is required.

Maximum 3 (three) students per team (from same University, could be from different departments) will be allowed.
• Maximum 15 teams will be selected for the design competition.
• If more than 15 teams register then there will be a preliminary scrutiny to choose the 15 teams for the competition day.

Circuit design (Schematic and Layout) using 45nm gpdk

3 to 4 hours

1. Each team will be provided with one Linux account, accessible within UIU campus.
2. Participants can use the internet during competition.
3. Judges decision is final, NO appeal will be entertained.
4. Competition will end at the same time for all teams and will NOT be extended. Time stamp on the server will be used to judge if participant exceeded the time-limit.
5. During competition, participants are NOT allowed to i) leave the area, ii) communicate with anyone outside their own team.
6. For any issues, team leader will be the point of contact.
7. Teams should be present at the UIU campus well ahead of the scheduled time. Collect your account details for log-in and familiarize with the system and design environment.
8. Please allow ample time to reach as there is serious traffic jam due to construction on Madani Ave from Notun Bazar to the UIU campus.
9. The authority reserves the right to amend the rules.
10. Question for the VLSI Design Competition will be made by the personnel from industry ONLY without the involvement of faculty members from University. Designs of all participants will be graded based on the grading scheme decided by them as well.
