About this Event

Learn with the Visit Lauderdale Food & Wine Festival at the Culinary Education Series taking place throughout festival week. Perfect for home cooks or a unique date night for couples, the Culinary Education Series aims to provide a fun and relaxed setting for all to learn from the pros. Each class begins at 6:30pm, lasts 90 -120 minutes and starts off with a welcome cocktail or glass of wine.

Classes are suitable for all skill levels. Students must be at least 15 years of age.

Classes offered include:


Empanada Party-Mon Jan 9th at Culinary Convenience

$75/person

Learn to make your own empanadas like a pro and roll in the dough. First, we’ll get started with crafting a Mango-Habanero Daquiri. Then we will create a variety of empanadas, most notably an Angus Beef Empanada with olives and sofrito with cilantro aioli and a Guava-Plantain-Cheese Empanada. Last, but not least, we’ll get to enjoy the fruits of our labor with the chef. Your instructor for this class is Chef Jorge Montes of Sazoned, an online culinary platform!

The Art of Charcuterie-Tues Jan 10th at Sistrunk Marketplace

Learn The Art of Charcuterie and Mozzarella pulling that will impress all of your friends at your next dinner party. In this class, we will cover how to pull your own mozzarella from cheese curds, the proper way to source and select meats and cheeses, how to properly add garnishes and condiments that compliment your board and finally, you will build your own personal charcuterie plate. Southern Cooking 101-Tues Jan 10th at TRP Taste

Chef Chris Miracolo will demonstrate how to create classic Southern dishes and share recipes that you’ll be able to execute at home! During this class you will learn how to make Hand Cakes, Gumbo, Fried Green Tomatoes, Low Country Shrimp & Grits and a Seasonal Fruit Cobbler. Enjoy a night of Spanish vibes and bites. Learn to make easy and tasty Classic tapas with enjoying a refreshing beverage. First, Chef will teach the class how to make his famous Sparkling Pear Sangria. Then we will make a delicious ‘Pan con Tomate’ with Jamon Serrano. Next we will make Shrimp Tapas with mushrooms in sherry and garlic. Last, but not least, we will plate our dish. Cake Decorating...in a galaxy far, far away-Wed Jan 11th at New River Café & Bakery

Join us in a galaxy far, far away while we create an edible version of your favorite character! In this cake decorating class, you will start with 4 layers of vanilla cake, learn how to fill and ice your cake with our signature brown butter buttercream and start to create some magic with fondant details! You will learn how to sculpt, cover and detail fondant until your cake looks like it just stepped out of another galaxy! Your instructor for this class is Sabrina Courtemanche, Executive Pastry Chef of the Riverside Hotel and Winner of Sugar Rush Christmas on Netflix!

Learn to make flavorful Vegan -Korean dishes that will even impress your non vegan friends. To kick things off, Chef will welcome everyone with a refreshing Lemon Grass Coconut Rum punch. Learn ‘The Art of Pizza’ with Pizzeria Magaddino’s master pizzaiolo Tom Magaddino. You will start the evening with a refreshing beer by Gulf Stream Brewing Company and seasonal appetizer platter featuring antipasto with marinated eggplant, roasted balsamic peppers, marinated olives and more. During class, you will learn to make Neapolitan pizza using simple ingredients.
