VJ JAM SESSION - Intro to Basic VJ Techniques & Co-creation

An open format for attendees to explore different methods of creating live visuals for music and live performances. Topics include experimenting with analog and digital methods of creating visuals - using Resolume, Touch Designer (basic) and traditional video mixers. The workshop is focussed on creating a setting for artists to improvise, jam and generate material - creating video collages, mixing sources and creating their own content for projection purposes. It hands on opportunities for people in attendance and invites guests to share their work and experiment in a casual setting creating a sense of peer-to-peer collaboration and community. After the workshop DJs will accompany the visuals being generated in an inclusive and low key open deck DJ/VJ Jam.

Materials: please bring your own laptop or devices with either Touch Designer or Resolume Arena or other software installed. Feel free to bring other hardware/sources such as camcorders, video mixers, video synths or objects/materials to create collages under a camera source.
