Antonio Vivaldi's best-known work, the four violin concertos known as the The Four Seasons, was a revolution in musical conception. Vivaldi represented flowing creeks, singing birds, summer storms, frozen landscapes, and warm winter fires in one of the earliest examples of what we now call "program music." Virtuoso violinist Aisslinn Nosky solos and leads the Bach Akademie Charlotte Orchestra in this brilliant tour de force.
The program also features Bach's arrangement of Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, one of the most beloved vocal works of the classical repertoire, sung by the superb singers of Bach Akademie Charlotte.
