The Museo is pleased to present this daylong symposium of lectures, conversations, and live music celebrates the powerful art of Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi.
Presentation topics include Verdi in his Youth: the Path to Fame, presented by Kip Cranna, Dramaturg Emeritus at San Francisco Opera; Between Myth and Modernity: Verdi and La Traviata, presented by Marina Romani, Lecturer, UC Berkeley; Verdi Baritones in Rigoletto at San Francisco Opera, presented by Jeffery McMillan, Public Relations Director, San Francisco Opera; In Conversation with Manuel Gutierrez, Costume Production Coordinator, San Francisco Opera, led by Barbara Rominski, Director of Archives, San Francisco Opera.
The symposium will also feature performances of arias and duets from Verdi’s operas by soprano Eileen Meredith, tenor Chester Pidduck, and pianist Ron Borelli.
