+ Chilli shots competition

So, you think you can handle the heat and also give us a demo of your best “grito ranchero” (ranchero screaming)? Then join us on this competition where the winner will take home $500 pesos! –Actually, it is $300 Aud). Warning: you may spit fire compadre-

+ Frida Kahlo costume competition

We'll have two categories: Kids and Adults. Attention parents, get dressed with your kids!

Prize: $300 pesos too! Ay caramba! (Adult category only) / Kids winner will get a piñata, tickets for Lucha Fantastica Day of the Dead Show and a small present

MUSIC AND MEXICAN FOLK DANCE

- Sin Frontera Band (traditional mariachi music)

- And all the way from Tijuana (Si señor, the real Tijuana): The Lone Mariachi & The Silver Masked Men (latino music, cumbia and other Mexican beats to make you shake your bon bon)

+ With special guests: Mexbourne Dance Co (The best Mexican folk dance school in Australia!)

TACOS & STREET FOOD + MEXICAN MARKET

We don't mean to brag but... we have on board some members from the Mexican community who are famous for their dishes and they are coming to The Viva Mexico Festival! So, expect REAL Mexican food like: Pozole, Tacos al pastor, carne asada, campechana, adobada, nachos, esquites, elotes & more!!!!!

PIÑATAS & KIDS ACTIVITIES

With family activities, games and also a piñata workshop so kids can learn to make their own piñatas

Oh! Have we mentioned The VIP Tequila Tram Experience???

Retropolis has a 1950’s Tram which will be transformed into a Mexican Cantina where we will host a Tequila & Agave Distillates Master-class (very limited tickets unfortunately and we are so proud to have some mezcal which is not available anywhere else in Australia!)

PLUS... LUCHA FANTASTICA (MEXICAN WRESTLING DEMONSTRATION)

With special guests from Lucha Fantastica (Mexican wrestling in Australia) doing a Lucha Libre demonstration and teaching people how to become a pro wrestler!

Mexican Independence is celebrated with what Mexicans we call: "El Grito" (VIVA MEXICO!!!) / El Grito ceremony will happen at midnight!

Family friendly event from 1pm to 7pm ($10 per ticket only, kids over 3 have to pay por favor)

Adult fiesta from 7pm to 1am ($20 per ticket only, this ticket also gives you access to the day time fiesta –1pm to 1am-)
