Viva Ciclovia Street Fiesta

Ciclovia was first started in Bogota, Colombia and has spread like wildfire throughout the world! As part of the concept, people of all ages and abilities are encouraged to take to the streets for the ultimate community event, that can include Biking, Walking, Skateboarding, Rollerblading, Jogging and exercise stations that promote healthy living!

Latin Flair Events & Conexion Media Group invite the community to observe National Hispanic Heritage Month (15 Sep – 15 Oct), with us! Overall activities of the Street Fiesta will include a family friendly, Latin-flavored party with music, folkloric groups, and the delicious and varied flavors and aroma of Hispanic cuisine. We also plan on having fun contests, piñatas for the kids and non-Hispanic entertainment.

This event will bring a wide variety of persons to our historic Fort Walton Beach downtown area where area businesses will be encouraged to actively participate, as well as other area businesses, agencies, and organizations.

This event has been activated successfully in cities throughout the world, Ciclovia is sure to have a positive impact upon our community from economic development, public health, air quality and last but not least, traffic congestion.

Our Emerald Coast is a hot-spot from mid-March to September; which dramatically affects those that love and live here. Imagine a bike & pedestrian highway that will encourage people to get out of their cars and enjoy the beauty of our town up close and personal!

Ciclovia will showcase that this is possible and give an opportunity for community dialogue to discuss the infrastructure over Brooks bridge that will provide the connectivity to the island.

The entire Emerald Coast will be invited to attend and enjoy the great outdoors in downtown Fort Walton Beach and the downtown shops and restaurants will reap the benefits of the “people traffic” that this event is sure to bring.
