Join us for a Visual Language Tour of our latest exhibition, Desert Forest: Life with Joshua Trees, presented at the Lancaster Museum of Art and History as part of the Getty PST ART: Art & Science Collide initiative. This tour will be led by a MOAH guide, accompanied by a certified American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter, ensuring an engaging and accessible experience for all participants.
The Desert Forest exhibition explores the endangered Joshua tree and the Mojave Desert ecosystem that sustains it. Integrating natural history, indigenous knowledge, scientific research, and artistic expressions, the exhibit delves into the urgent conservation efforts to protect this iconic tree. Learn about the complex relationships between the Joshua trees, soil fungi, and moth pollinators, while reflecting on climate change, wildfires, and other threats to this fragile environment.
