Visiting Virtuosos at Indiana Landmarks Center

In partnership with City Chamber Orchestra and Visiting Virtuosos, Indiana Landmarks presents an evening of special music with cellist Arkady Orlovsky and pianist Tamara Orlovsky featuring works by Fauré, Boccherini, and Mozart. The event is the first in a series of Visiting Virtuosos performances at Indiana Landmarks Center designed to celebrate exceptional artistry and serve the community through music, education, and engagement.
Visiting Virtuosos, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring the next generation through meaningful artistic experiences, offers public performances featuring acclaimed guest conductors and artists from around the world. City Chamber Orchestra, the professional chamber orchestra of Visiting Virtuosos, was created to engage communities, build awareness, and help young people become involved in the arts at every level.
About the Artists
Internationally acclaimed musicians Arkady and Tamara Orlovsky, maintain a musical legacy deeply connected to Indiana, having enriched the state's cultural landscape for decades through their performances, teaching, and artistic leadership.
Arkady Orlovsky became principal cellist of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in 1978, following a distinguished career that began with doctoral studies at Russia’s St. Petersburg Conservatory. In addition to his extensive performing career, he has served as a faculty member at Butler University and as music director and conductor for the Columbus (Indiana) Symphony Orchestra.
Tamara Orlovksy, pianist, has performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world including the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Carmel Symphony, Dresden Symphony Orchestra, Volgograd Philharmonic, the Shanghai Broadcast Symphony, and more. She has also served on the faculty of Indiana University, Indiana Central University, Huntington College, and Leningrad’s Special Music School.
Tickets
Tickets cost $35/general public, $25/Indiana Landmarks member, and are free to children age 12 and under. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Indiana Landmarks Center, 1201 Central Avenue, Indianapolis, which is accessible to all. Built as a Methodist church in the nineteenth century, the restored and adapted structure holds theaters and a reception hall in addition to Indiana Landmarks’ statewide headquarters.
