Visit Knoxville and United Way of Greater Knoxville are taking over Market Square for the second annual Community Block Party on Thursday, September 10, from 11 AM–2 PM.
Stop by for a $10 lunch and stay for the fun and festivities. The $10 lunch-for-a-cause features a hot dog, chips, a Ham’N Goodys cookie, and a Coca-Cola drink. Every lunch purchase directly supports United Way’s 2026 “United is the Way” campaign and its goal of raising $9 million for nonprofits serving our community.
You’ll also find activities, giveaways, and plenty of familiar faces from organizations across Knoxville. Meet representatives from the Knoxville Smokies, Knoxville Ice Bears, One Knoxville SC, Muse Knoxville, Young-Williams Animal Center, Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley, UT Athletics, the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, and many more.
And keep an eye out for two very special guests: Smokey XII and Costumed Smokey!

11:00 AM – The block party begins
11:30 AM – Visit Knoxville President Kim Bumpas will welcome attendees, introducing Chrystal Armstrong Brown, President and CEO of UWGK. Chrystal will address attendees, followed by “Voice of the Vols” Mike Keith and Jim Atchley, co-chairs of the UWGK 2026 campaign.
12:00 PM – Live music presented by WDVX’s Blue Plate Special
2:00 PM – Event concludes
Bring your coworkers, friends, and family for a lunchtime celebration filled with music, activities, community spirit, and a few Smokey sightings. We’ll see you on Market Square!
