🎬 Join us for an inspiring CreativeMornings/Helsinki with Ali Al-Saffu! 🎬We're thrilled to welcome Ali Al-Saffu, a talented Finnish-Iraqi writer and director, to share his creative journey with us! Ali has made waves in Finnish cinema with his authentic storytelling that highlights the real-life experiences of immigrant youth in East-Helsinki. His debut feature film, NORMAALII, captures the struggles and triumphs of four young immigrants facing societal pressures in the suburbs of Helsinki, made with the support of his community. Now, Ali is gearing up to release his latest project, IISI KEISSI VELI, a short format series for Yle Areena, bringing more heartfelt, personal stories to the screen.
Don’t miss the chance to hear Ali discuss how his personal experiences shape his filmmaking, the power of community in independent film production, and his vision for the future of Finnish cinema.
