Bio for Kim Barry
Graduated from Penn State University, Barry has been professionally painting for over 20 years. Her motto has remained constant- “Hold strong to the joy of your inner child as you gain the wisdom of the old to live out your best life possible.” She has travelled the country many times over and sought out many adventures but found her way back to Jacksonville, FL as her home. She has dedicated her work to inspiring others to live out their joy through her work, artistic event, and personal connections. Barry was one of the first artists to show in China during the IASG 2001 International Artists Exhibit. Her work has gone on to show in exhibits internationally including the Louvre for the 2015 Artists L’Art Contemporain Exhibit. In 2011, her work "Buried Child" was included in the 100 Years of Women In Contemporary Art Exhibit in Long Beach, CA. She has created pop up studios -- Jacksonville, Florida, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, PA. and Nashville which housed interactive environments that include paintings, sculptures, music, movement and installations that tell stories to connect the myths of our inner worlds with the consistent symbolism held and expressed in the everyday words and movements of our seemingly disconnected modern outer world. The intent is to break through the various cynical groupthink mentalities running rampant in our world. She has recently opened SixThreeFouR art studio and event venue in Avondale. It's purpose is to EXHIBIT JOY. Find her work at www.kimbarrystudio.com . Find more about the studio at www.sixthreefourjax.com
Bio for Lynda Diamond
I had been an art teacher for close to 40 years (taught 4th 1 yr and reading). Retired in 2010 and then pursued my art. When Space came back to Jacksonville from Sanford to live she started setting up art exhibitions for both of us and various local artists.
Glimmer and Love was the first Jan 27, 2018 in Grenson Hall at the Unity church on Lomax St in Riverside. The second was Showtime Art Exhibition, June 21, 2018 at the Stout Snug - on the hill- on Edgewood Avenue. The third was Tenacity 2019 Art Exhibition on Jan 25, 2019 at the Hyperion Brewing Company on Main Street. Stargazers 2020 Art Exhibition at the Archetype on March 9, 2020 was the beginning of the pandemic so this was our last exhibition.
I worked with many different media over the years. Then the last few years of my career I picked up Journaling which soon became an outlet for collage. With that mixed media style I was hooked, I couldn’t put it down over the next 14 years. It was an ideal solution for my photographs, drawings and paintings along with pictures from magazines and old books that I had collected over the years.
