You will explore different ways to engage with meaningful images through quiet reflection and observation. Tea & Coffee included.
Susanne Irving is a writer, photographer and painter who uses visual media to deepen prayer and meditation. In this workshop, we will explore Visio Divina, a contemplative practice that uses images rather than words to connect with God. You will have the chance to experiment with a variety of visual cues. You may work with any painting, sculpture, abstract work or even something noticed on a walk in nature. Choose whatever resonates with you. You will have the option to work with any of Susanne's paintings, if you wish.
Bring a pen, notebook for reflections and blank paper if you would like to draw or doodle plus a phone camera. Do you have an image that speaks to you? Please bring it along if you can; if not, simply photograph or print it. Images can include those found in a magazine or online.
