Visible Mending & Embroidery Series (4 week course)

Welcome to our brand new Visible Mending and Embroidery series. This course begins on Saturday, January 10th and continues for 4 consecutive weeks. Each week we'll explore a new hand stitching technique and work on samples in class. By the end of the course, you'll be able to tackle any mending job and save all your favourite clothes from the landfill, as well as any household items that need a little TLC like pillowcases, curtains & more. We'll also show you everything you need to know about embroidery so you can embellish anything....even if it doesn't need a repair. Simply add beautiful stitchwork to your wardrobe!

Week 1 (Jan 10th) Visible mending techniques including Sashiko & embroidery stitches

Week 2 (Jan 17) Patchwork: Mend with fabric patches from the inside out! Learn techniques to attach patches directly onto the fabric or behind the repair.

Week 3 (Jan 24) Learn how to weave directly on clothing to create beautiful hand woven patches (you'll receive a mini loom to use in class and then take it home to keep!)

Week 4 (Jan 31) Needle felting for repair on wool garments
